A career travel journalist and storyteller, working with high-profile outlets such as
CNN, SCMP, VICE, Travel+Leisure, Travel Weekly and many more,
to tell the unique, special and human stories of the travel world.
Hey! I’m James. I started this blog to showcase some of the travel stories I’ve done over the years, and to invite further collaborations with interesting and ambitious travel brands and experiences.
I regularly work with my filmmaker wife, providing not only written travel stories and content for our partners, but also video, film and photography too.
How I work
My travel journalism started in 2000 when I decided a trip up a live volcano in Indonesia was too good not to pitch out. The Jakarta Post took it, and the door opened to 25 years of travel writing, for clients including Travel+Leisure, CNN Travel, Travel Weekly, Culture Trip, the SCMP and many more.
Now I also work with hotels, airlines, and other travel industry stakeholders, helping them showcase their services and latest news through written stories, social media content, videos and long-form films.
